Why?
Bread Spreads was started to celebrate the grain and the bean. We believe we are creating some of the best food on the planet by making Edamame Hummus and Fava Bean Salad ready to eat with crackers, pita, toast (as the name might suggest), or whatever else your heart desires! By eating our bean spreads with grain-based products, you get a healthy dose of protein and may even lower your cholesterol. We are committed to preserving our environment and our community, which is why we work with local farmers to source our beans. We are inspired by the variety we see in recipes from around the world and will continue to provide unique, delicious recipes for your delight.
Welcome to Bread Spreads!
We are here temporarily to give you information about our business. Here is the short end of it:
We are based in Bloomington.
We are a client of the Bloomington Kitchen Incubator:
http://www.bloomingtononline.net/forum/showthread.php?t=2229
We are using locally grown edamame and fava beans to create healthy and delicious spreads to put on toast (that's how we often prefer it) crackers, or whatever else your heart desires.
Edamame hummus is a variation on classic chickpea hummus. Instead of chickpeas we use immature soybeans (edamame).

Fava Bean Salad is more commonly known as Foul Mudammas
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ful_medames
Starting in July and August, our spreads should start showing up on the shelves of Bloomingfoods, Sahara Mart and other local businesses.
